This week, we were delighted to join a panel on the Future of Oil and Gas at the 5th Vienna Energy Security Dialogue along with a prestigious panel to discuss the future of oil and gas under the current European energy crisis, organized by World Energy Council Austria and OSCE. The event also included keynote speeches by Angela Wikinson, CEO of World Energy Council, and Dr Ayed Alqahtani, Director of Research at OPEC.
The panel also discussed the current gas crisis, oil markets, decarbonisation of the oil and gas sector, and future of energy transition in Europe.
Our message during the panel focused on the fact oil and gas companies are the most important stakeholders to lead the transition, as oil will be a major source of energy over the short and medium term, while Europe needs to diversify its gas supply mix on the short term, and invest in hydrogen infrastructure over the long term.
We thank organizers and the Federation of Austrian Industries for providing the magnificent place for this event.
